Meet Sarah
Dr Sarah Chalhoub is a nurse, midwife, and psychology PhD with over 25 years’ experience working alongside women at every life stage, from fertility and pregnancy, through early motherhood, to menopause and beyond. Her work sits at the intersection of women’s health, psychology, sexual wellbeing, and systems change.
Sarah brings a rare combination of deep clinical expertise, academic insight, and national leadership experience. She has worked across local and national government, healthcare systems, and complex organisations to develop policy, lead quality improvement, and deliver sustainable workforce and service transformation. At the same time, she has spent decades in deeply personal, privileged spaces, listening to women’s stories, supporting recovery after birth and trauma, and helping women rebuild confidence, identity, and wellbeing.
Her approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion. Sarah believes that when women are supported to thrive, physically, psychologically, and socially, families, workplaces, and societies benefit.
Her professional work is underpinned by a simple but powerful philosophy: with women, at every life stage.
Outside of her professional life, Sarah is a mother of two adult children, a partner to a globally renowned gynaecologist (whom she met during a Caesarean section while they were both students), and someone who values time with family, friends, and long walks on the beaches of Northumberland. She is known for being warm, intuitive, and refreshingly down-to-earth, qualities shaped by decades of working closely with women during some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives.
